Evolution spree

12/29/2021, Wed, Sunshine, snow covered in parking lot

Take the full chance of a lucky egg and also want to boost up my level.

  • Bulbasaur 887 - 546 (avery)
  • Charmander CP 590,   CP 1005,  Charizard (stardust1054)
  • Squirtle CP 656,   CP 1045
  • Caterpie 273,  CP
  • EKan 725,    1530
  • Vulpix 612,  1643
  • Oddish 737, 1022
  • Bellsprout, 647.  1022
  • Porugon, special trade requirement.  ( I have this)
  • Eevee 554, night, 1170
  • Spinarak 606, not enough candies
  • Snubbull 789, 1665
  • Surskit 591,  1746
  • Aron 894, CP 1430
  • Turtwig 702,  1164, 100 Candies   ( not yet)
  • Chimchar 573, 989
  • Piplup 710, 1152
  • Bidoof 554, 1461
  • Stunky 907, 1907
  • CroakGunk 752, 2039
  • Lillipup, 595,  1053
  • Pidove 680, 1181
  • Darumaka 815, 1760
  • Vanillish 1101, 1982
  • Froakie 610, 1031
  • FletchlingH, 445, 882
  • Spritzee, 884,   (adventure together), Once the Incense has been applied while Spritzee is a buddy, there is no required walking distance. Just hop over to the Pokemon menu and evolve Spritzee with the 50 candies collected
  • Swirlix, (adventure together), feed her 25 times. (Yes it works.
  • Dwebble 1010 (need 22 candies), Bug/Rock   ( not yet)
But this strategy has some problem. For someone who wants the least catch and high CP, they should wait and until they catch the highest CP. But if XP is low, the CP of Pokemon trainer catch is low too.

Send & Receive Gifts

Friends increase from 200 to 400

The number of Gifts you can open daily is currently increased to 30, and the number of Gifts you can carry in your Item Bag is increased to 20. Gifts also contain more Poké Balls. Check out the new stickers coming to gifts that you can send to your friends!  (https://pokemongolive.com/play-where-you-are/?hl=en)

I am so afraid of the security issue, I delay "Friend" feature as far as I can until I have to complete tasks. This is an extremely useful feature I missed it in the first week when I play pokemon.

Today, the Pokemon Company announced that they will be upgrading the Friends limit from 200 to 400.

Gifts alone can make a huge difference to what you can do long term, as they provide a regular free source of Ultra Balls, Max Revives and Max Potions, the free 7km eggs you might receive.

More friends on Pokemon Go Friends Subreddit

https://niantic.helpshift.com/a/pokemon-go/?p=web&s=in-game-locations&f=sponsored-gifts

Sending & Receiving Gifts

Gifts contain an assortment of useful items, but you cannot open a Gift yourself. Instead, you can only send a Gift to a friend to open.

Each Gift includes a postcard about the PokéStop where it was collected. When you send a Gift to a friend, you’ll also share the PokéStop where you found this item. Note that your friend will be able to see the location you’ve visited when you send a Gift.

You can hold a maximum of 20 Gifts in your Bag at any given time. However, Gifts do not take up any of your inventory space.

To send a Gift:

  1. In Map View, navigate to your Trainer Profile.
  2. Tap the Friends tab at the top of the screen to open your Friend List.
  3. Tap on the Trainer that you wish to send the Gift. If you’d like to save the Postcard attached to the Gift, tap the pin icon to add it to your Postcard Book.
  4. Tap on the Send Gift button.
  5. Select which Gift you would like to send.
  6. Tap on the Send button.
Be sure to save the Postcard attached to the Gift before sending, as you cannot add it to your Postcard Book after you have sent it to your Friend.

To personalize a Gift, you can attach a sticker before sending it to a friend. After selecting the Gift you’d like to send, tap “Add sticker” and select the sticker you’d like to attach. Your friend will see the sticker when they open the Gift.

You can send each of your friends up to one Gift per day. If your friend has not yet opened a Gift that you’ve previously sent them, you won’t be able to send them another one until they open the first one.

The items, Stardust, and Pokémon Eggs you receive from the gift will automatically be deposited into your Item Bag or Pokémon Inventory.

Buddy System

https://dotesports.com/news/how-to-get-best-buddy-status-in-pokemon-go

Buddy Status Requirements    Reward

Good Buddy One Heart You’ll be able to see your Buddy Pokémon’s mood on its profile page

Great Buddy 70 Hearts          Your Buddy Pokémon will find presents around the map for you

Ultra Buddy 150 Hearts Your Buddy Pokémon will bring your souvenirs

Best Buddy 300 Hearts Your Buddy Pokémon will gain a CP boost in combats

Whenever your Buddy Pokémon is feeling excited, the distance it takes to find Candy will be cut in half. You’ll also start earning double hearts for each Buddy action you complete with your Buddy Pokémon.

If you start gaining Best Buddy status with some of the most powerful Pokémon at your service, they’ll be even more powerful in battles. Once you achieve Best Buddy status with some of your most-used Pokémon, you’ll be able to come up with different strategies before Raids or Gym battles.

To maximize your time and gain Best Buddy status with your Pokémon, you’ll need to complete the following routine daily for around 13 to 14 days.

Baby Pokemons

Although Baby Pokémon were added to Pokémon Go ahead of the main Gen 2 release, the update does tweak how likely you are to hatch the likes of Pichu, Cleffa, or Igglybuff from eggs.

https://www.wired.co.uk/article/pokemon-go-gen-2-tips-tricks

Those three, along with Togepi, all hatch after walking 2km in the real world. Rarer Baby Pokémon Smoochum, Elekid, and Magby all take 5km to hatch now.

  • Magby: Fire-type baby Pokémon evolves into Magmar
  • Cleffa: Fair-type baby Pokémon evolves into Clefairy
  • Pichu: Electric-type baby Pokémon evolves into Pikachu
  • Igglybuff: Dual-type normal/fairy baby Pokémon evolves into Jigglypuff
  • Smoochum: Dual-type ice/psychic baby Pokémon evolves into Jynx
  • Elekid: Electric-type baby Pokémon evolves into Electabuzz
  • Togepi: Fairy-type baby Pokémon evolves into Togetic from generation two.

The update also means Togepi - the only one of the original Baby Pokémon not based on a Gen 1 Pokémon - can evolve into Togetic. It's an easy enough evolution, requiring you feed it 50 Candy. The only hitch is getting enough Togepi Candy, as relying on hatching enough could take months. The best solution is to set Togepi as your partner Pokémon, which will net you a slow but reliable supply of Candy as you explore together.

How to get Revive

Here's how to get Revives in 'Pokémon Go.

https://www.distractify.com/p/how-to-get-revives-in-pokemon-go

Luckily, there are a few different ways to get Revives in Pokémon Go. You can get them

  • through leveling up as a trainer,
  •  spinning the Photo Discs at Gyms or PokéStops,
  • defeating Raid Bosses, completing research tasks, or opening gifts.

Type:

Actually, there are two types of Revives: regular ones and Max Revives. As we know, a Revive gives your Pokémon health after their HP has been knocked down to zero. It restores half of the max HP a fainted Pokémon has. But a Max Revive gives your Pokémon way more health. As the name states, they give a fainted Pokémon all of its health back when it's used.

When you're leveling up, you can only get certain Revives as rewards. According to the Pokémon Go Fandom,
  • get Revives as you go from levels 5 to 29.
  • getting Max Revives when reach level 30.

Plus, the two look pretty different. Revives look like Plumbobs from The Sims while Max Revives look like star pieces or star fragments from Animal Crossing.

Once your Pokémon faint, they're out of the fight for good until you revive them. But sometimes you just don't have Revives available and want to avoid the issue in the first place. Many people avoid fights they know they can't win. But if you like a challenge, there are different potions you can use to stay in the fight.

  • Standard Potions are unlocked at level 5 and restore 20 HP.
  • Super Potions are unlocked at level 10 and restore 50 HP.
  • Hyper Potion are unlocked at level 15 and restore 200 HP.
  • Max Potions are unlocked at level 25 and restore all of a Pokémon's HP.

Keep in mind that a Pokémon can only have its HP restored until it's maxed out so if you use a Hyper Potion on one that is only missing 100 HP, only 100 HP will be restored.

You can get Potions the same way you get Revives. The more you level up, the more powerful the potion you get will be. But you can't use Potions on Pokémon that have fainted.

How to get XP fast in Pokémon Go

How to get XP fast in Pokémon Go

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/pokemon-go-xp-list-chart-sources-how-to-get-xp-fast-7002

1. levelling a Friend to Best Friend status

The most efficient way of getting XP is adding Friends, sending them gifts, then using a Lucky Egg when turning Best Friends.

Though technically not the 'fastest' method, the 'best' method is by levelling a Friend to Best Friend status, netting you a whopping 100,000 XP

This takes some time - 90 days in total - but since all it takes is exchanging Gifts back and forth daily, it's by far and away the most lucrative XP source in the game.

Remember you can use a Lucky Egg to double this to 200,000 XP, and if you time it right, you can easily queue up multiple Best Friends to open their gifts in a single Lucky Egg use.

2. Otherwise, a very effective means of gaining XP is evolving Pokémon one after another while a Lucky Egg multiplier is active, something which can perform solo and at your own convenience.

Low Candy Pokémon such as Weedles are your ticket to fast XP.

Evolving a creature gives you 500 1000 XP, and if you have enough creatures and Candy available to evolve them for a full 30 minutes, can net you around 60,000 XP with the use of a Lucky Egg.

MY COMMENT: wait until spot hour which feature 2xp evaluation, then it will be 4000xp.

Raid Information, Raid monster

https://www.pockettactics.com/pokemon-go/raid

Here’s how to start and complete a raid in steps:

  • To initiate a raid, you’ll need a raid pass, which you can get from a gym once per day
  • Next, find a gym with an egg above it and wait until the timer counts down
  • Visit the gym when the timer has come to an end and you’ll be able to face the raid boss
  • The raid boss is a Pokémon with much higher CP than usual, and you have an hour to form a team and beat it
  • You can participate in raids solo or join a group of up to 20 other players
  • You can bring up to six Pokémon into the battle with you, just like in a usual gym battle
  • If you fail the boss fight, you can try again as many times as you’d like until the hour is up, and it won’t cost you another raid pass
  • If you’re successful, you’ll receive a bunch of rewards and a chance to catch it using premier balls, which are exclusive to raids

WHAT REWARDS CAN I GET?

Aside from the chance to catch a really powerful Pokémon, you also get several other rewards for successfully completing a raid:

  • Golden razz berry
  • Fast TM
  • Charged TM
  • Rare candy
  • 3,000 XP (standard raids)
  • 20,000 (legendary raids)

Pokemon Go Winter Wonderland Challenge, Galarian Mr Mime!

Once you’ve traded for every Pokemon required as part of the Holidays 2021 Collection Challenge, you’ll be rewarded with a Galarian Mr Mime encounter, which remains one of the rarest ‘mon in Pokemon Go.

Previously, the only way Trainers were able to catch Galarian Mr Mime was if they purchased a ticket for the ‘Tap… Tap… Tappity-Tap…’ Special Research story when it went on sale back in December 2020.

This is the first time Trainers will be able to add the Ice/Psychic-type Galarian Mr Mime to their collection without having to pay for the privilege, so it’s definitely worth taking the time to complete the challenge.

Raid Battle Niantic Support

Gyms & Battle

https://niantic.helpshift.com/a/pokemon-go/?l=en&p=web&s=gyms-battle

  • What are Raid Battles?

https://niantic.helpshift.com/a/pokemon-go/?l=en&p=web&s=gyms-battle&f=what-are-raid-battles

Raid Battles occur when a Boss Pokémon takes over a Gym. Your goal is to defeat this powerful Pokémon. If you and your fellow Trainers are successful, you’ll be rewarded with special items and a chance at catching that Pokémon. You can't do it alone; you’ll need help from fellow Trainers to raid the Gym and (hopefully) prevail.

Raid Battles aren’t your typical Gym Battle; your opponent is more difficult to defeat than most other Pokémon. Raids have 4 tiers of difficulty: tier 1, tier 3, tier 5, and Mega Raids. The higher the difficulty, the stronger the Raid Boss and the more players you’ll need in order to succeed.

JOINING A RAID BATTLE

Once the Egg hatches, the raid begins and you have 45 minutes to defeat the Boss.

RAID PASSES

Raid Passes are items required to join Raid Battles. There are four types of passes:

Raid Pass: You can earn a Raid Pass by spinning the Photo Disc at a Gym. You can only hold one Raid Pass at a time, and you can only receive one per day. This pass grants access to Tier 1-5 Raid Battles.

Premium Battle Pass (unlimited)

Remote Raid Pass: With a Remote Raid Pass, Trainers can join any Raid Battle that's on the Nearby screen or tappable from the Map View. Learn more about raiding remotely.

EX Raid Pass

JOINING A RAID BATTLE

Once the Egg hatches, the raid begins and you have 45 minutes to defeat the Boss. Any number of Trainers can join a raid, but only in groups of up to 20 Trainers. If you would like to be in the same group as your friends, you can join the raid privately. Otherwise, you will be automatically matched with other players in the lobby.

AFTER THE RAID BATTLE

If you are not able to defeat the Boss in the battle, you may rejoin the raid and battle again. You won’t need to use another Raid Pass to rejoin; your pass will grant you access to the battle for the duration of the raid. You can join as many times as you’d like before the raid ends.

After the Raid Battle, you’ll also receive a number of Premier Balls used for catching the Raid Boss. The number of Premier Balls you receive in a Raid Battle depends on how much damage you deal, whether the Gym is controlled by your team, and how quickly you defeat the Raid Boss.

You can't use Great Balls or Ultra Balls here; you’ll only be able to use these Premier Balls to catch the Boss Pokémon. However, you can use Berries to help capture this Pokémon. Aim carefully — once all of your Premier Balls run out, the Boss will flee.

Berries

https://pokemongo.fandom.com/wiki/Berries

Berries are items that can be acquired from leveling up, spinning the Photo Disc at a Gym or PokéStop, defeating a Raid Boss, completing research tasks, opening Gifts, or GO Battle League. They can be used while capturing wild Pokémon. They can also be fed to a Pokémon in a friendly Gym, increasing its motivation and CP. 20 Stardust is earned per berry fed to Gym Pokémon, and Trainer can feed one up to 10 berries at a time. Berries can also be used to feed Pokémon since the Buddy Adventure update.

There are currently five kinds of berries available in gameplay:

  • Razz Berry,
  • Pinap Berry,
  • Nanab Berry,
  • Golden Razz Berry
  • and Silver Pinap Berry.

Razz Berry

A Razz Berry is kind of berry that when fed a Pokémon while trying to capture it increases the chance of success by 1.5 times. They can be obtained by trainer at Level 8 and higher. Just like two other kinds of berries, Razz Berries can be obtained from spinning Photo Disc at PokéStops and Gyms and as reward for levelling up.

In-game description

Feed this to a Pokémon, and it will be easier to catch on your next throw.

Pinap Berry

A Pinap Berry is kind of berry that when fed a Pokémon while trying to capture it, it will double the amount of Candy the Trainer will receive if their next capture attempt is successful. They can be obtained by trainer at Level 18 and higher. Just like two other kinds of berries, Pinap Berries can be obtained from spinning Photo Disc at PokéStops and Gyms and as reward for levelling up.

It is particularly useful on Pokémon that are the 2nd and 3rd stages of their evolution line, as they drop more candy (5 and 10 respectively) than their 1st stage form (only 3 candies). However, those Pokémon are also usually harder to catch, making it more likely to break out and waste the berry.

Pinap berries stack with double candy bonuses from events multiplicatively. If a Pokémon normally grants 3 candies, and grants 6 during the event, using a Pinap berry at the same time would grant 12.

Nanab Berry

A Nanab Berry is kind of berry that will stop a Pokémon's movement during encounter, making it easier to capture on the Trainer's next attempt. They can be obtained by trainer at Level 4 and higher. Just like two other kinds of berries, Nanab Berries can be obtained from spinning Photo Disc at PokéStops and Gyms and as reward for levelling up.

It is particularly useful on hovering Pokémon that move around. There are several such move patterns: darting from one spot to another rapidly (Magnemite, Zubat), moving about smoothly in a figure 8 (Abra, Gastly), or flying upwards and staying for some time (Pidgeotto, Golbat).

In-game description

Feed this to a Pokémon to calm it down, making it less erratic.

Golden Razz Berry

Golden Razz Berries will greatly increase a Trainer's chances of catching a Pokémon they encounter in the wild (by 2.5 times) and can also be given to a Pokémon assigned to a Gym to fully recover its motivation meter. This kind of berry can be obtained as a reward from Raid Battle or completing a Research tasks.

In-game description

Feed this to a wild Pokémon to make it much easier to catch. Feed this to a Pokémon on a Gym to fully restore its motivation.

Silver Pinap Berry

Silver Pinap Berries increase a Trainer's chance of catching an encountered Pokémon by 1.8 times and multiply 2.333 times the amount of Candy given when Pokémon is successfully caught. They can be obtained from Mega Raid Battle, Research tasks and GO Battle League. The conversions are:

3 Candies - 7 Candies

5 Candies - 11 Candies

10 Candies - 23 Candies

How to Catch Ditto in Pokémon Go: Current Ditto Disguises (December 2021)

By: Nicholas Fries - Updated: December 9, 2021

Use the guide below to get yourself a Ditto!

In Pokémon Go, there are many reasons to catch a Ditto. Chief among them is that Ditto shows up as a task in the questline A Mega Discovery. The problem is that Ditto disguises itself as other Pokémon on the map, and you don't know whether it's a Ditto unless you catch it. Thankfully, we have the list of Ditto disguises to help you save time and conserve your use of Pokéballs.

The last time this list was changed was in October 2021, and it changes fairly regularly. Be sure to check back every couple months if you want to see which Pokémon might actually turn out to be Ditto!

Comments:  Mine is disguised as Skunky, Avery's is disguised as Teddiursa. Both have very low CP. I almost didn't want to catch it.

Tips & Tricks

Ditto is one of the most frustrating Pokémon in the game. It's difficult to catch one, and can often be dismissed because we think it's a Pokémon we've already caught many times before. On top of that, it's not very effective in battle. Here are some general tips for how to catch and release the transforming Pokémon.

  1. You know as soon as you catch one. When you catch it, before you even get to the Pokémon's page, your process will be interrupted by a screen that simply says Oh? Your Pokémon will then transform into a Ditto, if it is one.
  2. If you're doing it for the Research Task, try doing the quest to catch 10 Ghost Pokémon first. This quest is part of the same line, and will usually happen before you catch the Ditto, anyway. Some players (us included) speculate that if you complete the other two tasks in this section, it will greatly increase the chances of a Ditto popping up on your map (disguised as one of the Pokémon listed above, of course).
  3. Don't use Ditto in Battle. Ditto mimics everything about its opponent except its HP, and a Ditto's HP is usually low. This puts the other Pokémon at an advantage. The best use of a Ditto is to keep it on a shelf and admire how adorable it is.

That's all there is to know about catching a Ditto! Be sure to check back if you need the new list of Ditto's disguises!

Chance is 3% according to one source.

Lucky egg

https://www.androidcentral.com/best-way-use-lucky-egg-pokemon-go

you need to use them to their fullest possible extent. A Lucky Egg will double all of the XP you get for 30 minutes, so you want to spend that time wisely. There are a couple of strategies floating around for getting the most out of Lucky Egg, but this one seems to work best so far.

Before you use a Lucky Egg, make sure you have the following:

  • Common Pokémon to evolve
  • Lure Module or Incense
  • Lots of Poké Balls

Head to your favorite local place where there's a Pokéstop and a Gym nearby one another, or a place with multiple Pokéstops in close proximity. When you get there, drop a Lure Module on a Pokéstop and activate your Lucky Egg. The countdown from 30:00 will begin immediately, so it's time to get to work. Start by evolving all of your common Pokémon. Every Pidgey into a Pidgeotto, every Weedle into a Kakuna, and so on.

Battling at Gyms, feed to Pokemon at Gym.

Battling at Gyms

https://niantic.helpshift.com/a/pokemon-go/?l=en&p=web&s=gyms-battle&f=battling-at-gyms

Gym overview

Gyms are locations found throughout the world where you can battle the Pokémon of rival teams. Trainers from opposing teams battle for control of the Gyms. Each Gym has up to six Pokémon assigned to defend it. Trainers from an opposing team can bring six of their own Pokémon to battle against the defenders, in hopes of claiming the Gym for their own team.

A Pokémon’s ability to be successful in battle is primarily influenced by its Hit Points (HP) and Combat Power (CP). HP is a measurement of the Pokémon’s health, and CP is a measurement of the strength of their attacks. Pokémon with high CP and high HP have powerful attacks as well as the ability to withstand attacks from opponents.

Every Pokémon on a Gym has motivation, a measurement of the Pokémon’s desire to defend the location. Trainers from opposing teams battle to reduce the motivation of the Pokémon on the Gym. Pokémon gradually lose motivation over time and by losing battles against opposing team members. As a Pokémon loses motivation, its CP will temporarily decrease, making it weaker in battle. When a Pokémon’s motivation reaches zero, it leaves the Gym and returns to its Trainer the next time it loses a battle.

For Gyms controlled by your team, your goal is to keep motivation up by giving the Pokémon treats. For Gyms controlled by opposing teams, your goal is to gain control of the Gym by depleting the motivation of opposing team’s Pokémon.

Feed Berry

You can give Berries to any Pokémon on Gyms controlled by your team. You can give any kind of Berry to Pokémon - Golden Razz Berries, Razz Berries, Nanab Berries, and Pinap Berries. All Berries provide the same increase in motivation, with the exception of the Golden Razz Berry, which fully restores motivation.

Battle at Gyms

When battling Pokémon, you battle Pokémon in the order they were assigned to the Gym; the Pokémon on the Gym for the longest time will battle first.

Free POKÉCOINS

HOW TO GET POKÉCOINS FOR FREE

After 8 hours and 20 minutes in a gym, a pokemon has accrued 50 coins and can never accrue more.

The only way to get free PokéCoins is by occupying gyms. Up to six Pokémon can be put in a gym, if it’s for your team.

Red gyms are owned by Team Valor,
yellow gyms are run by Team Instinct
blue gyms are occupied by Team Mystic.

You can change the color and team of a gym by battling in it and knocking out the Pokémon. It takes multiple rounds of battling to do this.

You will get six PokéCoins per hour  ( 10 minutes 1 coin) while your Pokémon is in a gym, but you’ll only get the coins when your Pokémon gets knocked out. You can also only get 50 PokéCoins per day, adding a cap to how many freebies you can grab. Even if you have multiple Pokémon in gyms, you can still only get 50 PokéCoins per day.

WHAT TO BUY IN THE POKÉMON GO SHOP

If you plan on playing Pokémon Go longterm, you’ll need storage upgrades and bag upgrades. These allow you to hold more Pokémon and more items, respectively. Both upgrades cost 200 PokéCoins each.

Lucky Eggs are a good purchase, especially if you’re trying to speed up the rate you’re leveling. One Lucky Egg costs 80 PokéCoins and a set of eight costs 500 PokéCoins.

You’ll also need to buy Premium Raid Passes if you want to do more than one raid a day. While spinning a photo disk at a gym will give one free Raid Pass, those hunting for a Shiny Legendary or looking to collect an army of powerful Pokémon will probably need more.

We don’t recommend buying Poké Balls, as you can get them very easily for free from spinning Poké Stops. Incubators are also a very optional item, since you have a free permanent Incubator. So unless you need to hatch many eggs at once or quickly, you won’t need extra.

Community Day bundles normally do offer good deals for lots of items at a discounted price, but it depends on what’s in the bundle. Buying loads of Lucky Eggs in a bundle tends to be pretty worth it, but sometimes buying too many bundles can result in having lots of excess Premium Raid Passes. (Yes, we are speaking from experience.)

BUYING POKÉCOINS

If you’re in need for more coins, you can always buy some for real money. The prices vary a bit by region, but in the U.S, the prices are as follows:

100 PokéCoins: $0.99

550 PokéCoins: $4.99

1,200 PokéCoins: $9.99

2,500 PokéCoins: $19.99

5,200 PokéCoins: $39.99

14,500 PokéCoins: $99.99
