Evole Margikarp

Why do you need 400 Magikarp candy to evolve in Pokemon Go?

The answer is simply because Magikarp makes the biggest leap in term of stats and HP from one evolution. Magikarp can easily go from 150 CP to 1600 CP right away. No other Pokemon in the game comes even close to a 1450 CP difference. You also get a huge boost in CP when you finally evolve a Magikarp. Besides the fact that Gyarados is one of the rarest, strongest creatures in the game, evolving Magikarp means you have shown the ultimate measure of endurance as a Trainer.

How do you farm Magikarp candy?

  • Catch a Magikarp/Gyarados. Locate a Pokestop near a body of water With luremodule and Incense.
  • Pinap a Magikarp/Gyarados while catching it.
  • Raid a Magikarp (Tier 1, soloable).
  • Use Rare Candies on Magikarp.
  • Walk Magikarp as a Buddy (1KM per Candy).
  • Feed Magikarp/Gyarados placed in Gyms.  ( 1/58 chance to get candy)
  • Do field research.
  • Hatch 2km eggs.

Why do some Pokemon need 400 Candies?

The 400s – Four Pokémon families actually require 400 candies to evolve. They are Magikarp, Swablu, Wailmer and Meltan. For the first two, the reason for this is probably just because their evolved forms, Gyarados and Alteria, are quite sought after Pokémon.

Friend, trade, lucky pokemon, Lucky Friend

How to control when you want to become an ultra friend with someone

One question remain, if I sending a gift or opening a gift at the same day. Is the friendship is increased by one? If so, I can send a gift one day and open a gift next day, the friendship is increased by two levels. But the gift contains some valuable stuff, I think no trainer try this.

By Allegra Frank@LegsFrank  Updated Jul 23, 2018, 6:30pm EDT

ARE THERE ANY POKÉMON I CAN’T TRADE?
There are two major restrictions. You can’t trade any mythical monsters, which only includes Mew in the game thus far; and you can’t trade away any Pokémon that you received in a trade. Once your friend gives you one of their Pokémon, it’s yours or it’s no one’s.

Three more quick notes: You must be at least level 10 to trade. Hopefully you’ve reached that by now, since Pokémon Go’s been out for nearly two years now. The Pokémon you want to trade must be revived. And you have to be at least age 13 in order to trade, for safety reasons.

These are the stardust discounts you get based on your friendship level:
  • Good Friend:  0 percent discount
  • Great Friend: 20 percent discount
  • Ultra Friend:  92 percent discount
  • Best Friend:  96 percent discount

Note: according to this post, 100 stardust is the minimum requirement for normal trading. The discount is only for special trade.  At least, this is what happened to me.

WHAT’S A LUCKY POKÉMON?
Lucky Pokémon are those with decreased power-up costs. They require 50 percent less stardust than the average Pokémon in order to level up, which means it’s much easier to make them more competitive.

There’s no way to know whether you have a Lucky Pokémon before you trade it, however. They only become lucky upon a completed exchange. At that point, they’ll have a designation in their profile, and you can also sort for them specifically in your Pokédex.

CAN YOU TRADE LEGENDARY POKÉMON?
You can, actually! But legendary trades require extra restrictions, because they’re designated as special trades. There are actually a handful of Pokémon that are classified as special trade-exclusives:

  • Pokémon not already in your Pokédex, including special forms of Pokémon (costume Pikachu, Castform, Unown, Alolan forms, shinies)
  • Legendary Pokémon
  • Shiny Pokémon  (my comment: is this a shadowed pokemon purified, or really Shiny Pokemon)
To trade any of these, you’ll need to be at least Great Friends with your partner. These trades also require way more stardust than average ones. That cost will go down if you’re better friends with the person you’re trading with, however.

=====================Lucky Friend ===========================

How to get Lucky Friends in Pokémon Go
Lucky Friends is a special friendship status that guarantees you a Lucky Pokémon.

Becoming Lucky Friends in Pokémon Go works as follows:

  • There is a chance of being Lucky Friends when you are Best Friends with someone.
  • When you are Lucky Friends with someone, the next trade you make will result in both becoming Lucky Pokémon.
  • You have attempt per day at becoming Lucky Friends by performing one of the following actions - opening a gift, teaming up in Raids or Gym battles, or engaging in a Trainer Battle (essentially, anything that would usually result in leveling up your Friendship).
  • If successful, the game will notify that you are Lucky Friends, and it will say as such in your Friends listing.
  • Once the trade is completed, you will return to being 'regular' Best Friends again.
Other things to know about Lucky Friends includes:
  • It's possible to have more than one Lucky Friend.
  • You can become Lucky Friends with a Best Friend more than once, though not more than once per day.
  • The chances of becoming Lucky Friends, at least in the early stages, appear to be around 5% according to reddit.
  • The Lucky Friends status seems to last for as long as you next trade - so feel free to continue sending and receiving Gifts or engaging in Trainer Battles until you next meet up and can trade. It does not expire that day.
  • It is possible to have more than one Lucky Friend active at once. (Thanks blackpudding2000 on reddit for confirming).

Pokemon Evolution

Evolution

As with original version of Pokémon Go, you can still evolve most of your Pokémon into their later forms by feeding them enough Candy. However, the new Pokémon in Gen 2 introduces 'special' evolution items.

Special items are used to evolve certain creatures and there are five new items that affect how Pokémon evolve:

  • King's Rock evolves Poliwhirl into Politoed and Slowpoke into Slowking
  • Dragon Scale evolves Seadra into Kingdra
  • Sun Stone evolves Gloom into Bellossom and Sunkern into Sunflora
  • Up Grade evolves Porygon into Porygon 2
  • Metal Coat evolves Onix into Steelix and Scyther into Scizor

For Pokémon with divergent evolutions - such as Gloom or Slowpoke - you'll have the choice of which form to evolve them into. Whichever you choose, you'll still need to spend the requisite amount of Candy to evolve them, along with the appropriate item. They disappear after one use though, so you'll need two King's Rocks to evolve both Poliwhirl and Slowpoke, for instance.

Where to find special Evolution items

Unlike useful items such as Pokémon Lures or Incense, you can't buy the special items in Pokémon Go's store. So where do you get them?

The good news: all five items are random drops from Pokéstops.

The bad news: special items are rare drops. Pokémon eggs have a roughly 20 per cent drop rate, and at present it seems evolution items are even rarer. On top of that, with five different ones necessary and no way to determine which one you'll get, there's a high random factor to getting the one you need. Right now, or until Niantic makes them more easily available, there's no solution aside from persistence.

My tips for collecting stardust and boost XP

Search keyword: hatched, Shiny, Shadow, Evolve

== Best collect stardust==

Go battle, make sure to use them as your buddy. Total allowed 6 sets, 5 battle /per set, total 30.

== Best Strategy to boost XP and stardust==

Use lucky eggs and stardust ( both 30 minutes)  to do

  • 7 seven streak catch and spin boosted
First Catch of the day 3000 XP, Stardust  1900
7 days streak, Catch bonus 6000 XP,   Stardust  9100
7 days streak  pokestop bonus 2000 XP,   daily bonus 500 XP
7 days field research breakthrough, 3000XP, 2000 stardust
  • Raid tier 1 as many as possible  (3500 XP, 1000 stardust)
  • Hatch long-distance eggs or eggs from long distance
  • Binge evolving Pokemons  ( XP normal is 1000 )
  • Level friend up

==About Berry==

Even Silver berry is not very helpful to catch shadow pokemon. Instead, I think Nanab Berry is the best. It is particularly useful on hovering Pokémon that move around. There are several such move patterns: darting from one spot to another rapidly (Magnemite, Zubat), moving about smoothly in a figure 8 (Abra, Gastly), or flying upwards and staying for some time (Pidgeotto, Golbat).

== Stardusts and XP, the streak is very important. Don't miss a day =====

https://www.imore.com/pokemon-go-stardust

Stardust in Pokémon Go for your daily and 7-days Catch Streak!

  • 600 Stardust for each daily Catch Streak bonus.  ( I check it is 1900)
  • 3000 Stardust for the 7-day weekly Catch Streak bonus.
  • It is 3000XP for the daily catch, not 500 XP.

Stardust in Pokémon Go from Eggs?

  • 400-800 Stardust from a 2 KM Egg.
  • 800-1600 Stardust from a 5 KM Egg.
  • 1600-3200 Stardust from a 10 KM Egg.  (when star-piece  (1.5), luck eggs boost 2x XP)
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkID2lXUlLQ

==About Eggs==

Save egg incubators to use in eggs hatched booster events

Note: eggs receiving from the long-distance get extravagant stardust, marked it and hatch on event day using star piece and luck eggs.

  • 12km Eggs can only be earned by defeating one of the Team Go Rocket Leaders: Cliff, Sierra, or Arlo.
  • 7km eggs can only get from gifts
  • Togepi can be hatched from 5km eggs, but, in the 5km eggs

== Hatch eggs to immediately increase XP for trainers==

Visit Pokestops to collect eggs and use incubators to hatch them. If you can invest some money, buy fast incubators  (reduced hatch distance). Based on my experience, as long as an egg hatched, you get an egg from Pokestops immediately.  Compared with capturing a pokemon (not new), XP is only 100.

Reward from beating Raid Bosses:

  • 2 Golden razz berry  (may change)
  • 2 revive   (may for tier 5 Fast TM )
  • 2 Rare candy
  • 3,500 XP (standard raids)
  • 1000 Stardust

== XP======

Levelling a Friend to Best Friend status

The most efficient way of getting XP is adding Friends, sending them gifts, then using a Lucky Egg when turning Best Friends. Though technically not the 'fastest' method, the 'best' method is by levelling a Friend to Best Friend status, netting you a whopping 100,000 XP

This takes some time - 90 days in total - but since all it takes is exchanging Gifts back and forth daily, it's by far and away the most lucrative XP source in the game.

Remember you can use a Lucky Egg to double this to 200,000 XP, and if you time it right, you can easily queue up multiple Best Friends to open their gifts in a single Lucky Egg use.

== Excerpt from an article WHAT POKÉMON SHOULD I EVOLVE?======

If you’re prioritizing attackers for raids, Mamoswine is one of the best. It has a mix of extremely high CP, with strong ground and ice-type moves, making it a solid pick for most Legendary raids. Roserade is also one of the best grass-types, and Electivire is one of the best electric-types However, if you want to evolve a Lickilicky just to have a cute, round friend, that’s a pretty good option, too

Join on Dec 15, two weeks play. In order to finish "trade task", I have to open my child account. In order to trade, a trainer must be at Level 10 above. I went through the whole process again. It took me 2 hours or so to be level 10 instead of days for my account. I corrected all my wrongdoings, particularly not tapping items to collect them.

Eevee Evolution

 Eevee Evolution

https://www.pockettactics.com/pokemon-go/eevee-evolution

Eevee has eight different forms of evolution, which include Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. After acquiring 25 candies, you can evolve Eevee into Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon at random.

Here are the different names you’ll need to use to get each different Pokémon Go Eevee evolution:

  • Espeon, Sakura, while Eevee is your buddy, walk 10km then evolve it during the day. It’s worth noting, Eevee must remain as your buddy when you evolve it.
  • Glaceon:Rea, use a glacial lure while evolving Eevee
  • Jolteon: Sparky   (done)
  • Leafeon, Linnea,  use a mossy lure while evolving Eevee
  • Sylveon: Kira, earn 75 hearts with Sylveon as your buddy. It’s worth noting, Eevee must remain as your buddy when you evolve it.
  • Vaporeon: Rainer  (done)
  • Umbreon: Tamao, while Eevee is your buddy, walk 10km then evolve it during the night. It’s worth noting, Eevee must remain as your buddy when you evolve it.

綺麗 きれい Kirei          桜 さくら Sakura

https://www.dexerto.com/pokemon/what-is-the-best-eevee-evolution-in-pokemon-go-all-eeveelutions-ranked-1630111/

All Eeveelutions ranked from best to worst
1 – Umbreon
2 – Sylveon  (the second-best fairy type, kill dragon type pokemon)
3 – Vaporeon
4 – Glaceon
5 – Leafeon
6 – Jolteon
7 – Espeon
8 – Flareon

Here are the different Eeveelutions and their maximum CP at level 40:

Espeon (3,170)
Glaceon (3,126)
Vaporeon (3,114)
Sylveon (3,069)
Flareon (3,029)
Leafeon (2,944)
Jolteon (2,888)
Umbreon (2,137)
Almost every Eeveelution hits a high enough CP to be useful. But unfortunately for Espeon, there is no shortage of strong psychic types to choose from. While Espeon is among the strongest, there is an abundance of legendary and mythical psychic-types as well as non-legendaries like Alakazam, Exeggutor, and Metagross that are comparable to or better than Espeon.

Community day, 1/16 , 11-5 (6 hours)

 == Community Day, January 16th, Saturday, 11am to 5pm local time, Spheal==

Jan  community day Spheal

Highlighted Pokémon: Spheal

Dates: Sunday, January 16th

Time: 11am to 5pm local time

  • Bonus 1: 3x Catch XP
  • Bonus 2: Incense activated during the event will last three hours
  • Bonus 3: Lure Modules activated during the event will last three hours
  • Exclusive moves for evolution Walrein: Powder Snow (Fast), Icicle Spear (Charged)

There are also specific bonuses for each Community Day, from reduced hatching distance to increased Stardust and XP. Even without the bonuses, remember Community Day is an opportunity to catch a lot of creatures in a short space of time, useful if you want to get through the backlog of Eggs in your roster, or put on a Lucky Egg or Star Piece to increase your gains from catches.

Remember, if there is a deduced hatch rate, you only get bonus on Eggs you put into incubators during Community Day bonus hours. If you have an egg in an incubator before the event starts, it's hatch distance still stay the same. Also, if you don't hatch it before the event ends, it will stay that reduced distance until it does - so worth cramming one last one in before the event finishes!

  • 30 Ultra Balls will be available in the shop at no cost.

The Shiny rate on Community Days is approximately 1 in 25, according to The Silph Road’s research, so you should find Shiny Pokémon quickly.  (Yes, I catch many shiny pokemons on that day)

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/pokemon-go-community-day-list-moves-date-time-6002

The Pokémon Go Community Day is a reoccurring, monthly event highlighting a specific Pokémon that encourages players to get out and play together worldwide.

Each event will see increased spawns of the Pokémon for a limited time, and give them an exclusive Community Day move for their final evolution - and several other bonuses you can take advantage of during the event itself.

What is Community Day in Pokémon Go?

Community Day takes place on one weekend day every month and lasts a total of six hours.

As well as increasing spawns of the highlighted Pokémon, there are bonuses during that period of time - such as double XP, Stardust or Lure Modules - as additional incentives to get out there and playing, including the highlighted Pokémon having an increased chance of being shiny, and the ability to reach the highlighted Pokémon's evolution an exclusive move.

Spotlight hour 6-7pm Tue weekly, Jan

Jan 2022, Spotlight

The Spotlight Hour in Pokémon Go is a weekly event that will highlight one, special, surprise Pokémon and a special bonus effect.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/pokemon-go-spotlight-hour-featured-pokemon-bonus-7002

Guide by Lottie Lynn, Guides Writer, Updated on 3 December 2021

The Spotlight Hour in Pokémon Go is a weekly event that will highlight one, special, surprise Pokémon and a special bonus effect. Originally this bonus took place during the Mystery Bonus Hour, but this mini-event was merged with Spotlight hour at the beginning of April 2020.

For one hour, the chosen Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild, allowing you to catch as many as you can. This could help you fill in a missing entry in the Pokédex or find a strong Pokémon for raiding.

Meanwhile the bonus will provide you with important assistance on your Pokémon journey. This could be anything from double transfer candy, allowing you to evolve Pokémon faster, or double catch stardust. Like with the established Community Day event, Spotlight Hour is designed to get players out playing Pokémon Go as part of a community.

If you're planning on taking part in a Spotlight Hour, then there's a couple of ways you can prepare for the event.

  • The first is to ensure that you have enough Poké Balls and berries. You only have an hour to catch as many of the chosen Pokémon as possible - you don't want to waste it spinning PokéStops.
  • The second is to ensure that you have space left in your Pokémon Storage Box. Just like with items, you don't want to waste some of the Spotlight Hour transferring unwanted Pokémon, unless the current bonus is double transfer candy.
  • Thirdly, it's worth checking to see if you have any spare lures. Using a lure will increase the amount of Pokémon you encounter in the wild for half an hour, so, if you use one during the Spotlight Hour, it should also help you encounter more of the mystery Pokémon.
  • Finally, since Mystery Bonus Hour has now been merged with this event it's a good idea, depending on the bonus, to use a spare Lucky Egg or Star Piece during this hour.

This will further increase the XP or Stardust bonus you receive, which is a great advantage if you're trying to climb the level ranks of Pokémon Go quickly, or to build out your team for the Go Battle League.
