you can only level the pokemon to 10 levels above your trainer level,
so you cant fully max it out until you hit level 40.
Before on 2021, trainer must be at level 40 up to get XL candies, now it is level 31.

=Trade==
100 km+, 3 candies, 1 XL candy
10 km,  2 candies

4/8/2022 , It is almost 4 months. It is a long way to get here. From the start, I even didn't know to spin a  pokestop, till now, I collect so much information and know how I want to play.

  1. 尽量少抓。参加 field and special tasks, community days, spot hours。
  2. 每天 Use Pokeraid to host 2 raids with10 people capacity. Earn daily pokeraid coin so that I can  Host 3 or 4 on Wednesday using a double egg.
  3. Doing five sets Go battle daily. Win the first battle of one set, sit through for the rest 4 battles.
  4. Try to level 40 before Friday, July 22 for Go festival, Friday, July 22, to Sunday, July 24, 2022: Seattle, WA, USA. Save Coins and money earned from Google reward for Go festival
4/7, I tried the raid hour (wed, 6-7). It is not a good time to use a lucky egg unless I have  80 pokeraid coins to create an express room.
4/8 Install Pokegenie on my new phone. It is a great app to evaluate pokemons.  I think Pokeraid is a better app for raid. Since it is exclusive for raid.

4/14  level 38,  This catch trick is extremely well.

Trade limitation
100 trades, special trade: 1
On March 26, 2022, 9:17am

Keep 2 original forms of Pokemons
At least two pokeons for original form. One for your immediate evolution, one for future tasks, Fir for example, evoue grimer. Saving all pokemons hatched from 7km long distance pink eggs , you need to long-distance trade for level 40 tasks.

Lucky eggs and Starpiece
XP: experience point. Trainers need to earn it in order to level up. A lucky egg double XP
StardustTrainers need to earn it in order to power up their Pokemon. A Starpiece increase 50% stardust.

Raid

Eggs will only spawn between 5:30am - 7:45pm, so raid boss will be available is 6:30am - 9:30pm.
Raid hour: Every Wednesday 6pm - 7pm, most spawn lever five raid.

1 – 4 raids the raid timer is 180 seconds (3 minutes) long. Tier 5 timer is 300 seconds (5 minutes) long. There is no limit for the capture encounter duration – you can catch as long as you want.

==How do I plaly daily ==
1. play 2 accounts simultaneously. Trade immediately trade when going back home.

2. Sending Gifts and open 20 gifts.

3. Walking outside three times, Usually, Kakuna, Beedrill as buddy***
1. Moring, raid time if possible, 1h
2. Afternoon, walking time with my child, 0.5 h. Beedrill as buddy. No catch. Just walking,
3. Evening,  Gym time, 0.5 h.
4. Go battle: 0.5 h, only with my child account. Win the first two, walk through the rest.
5. When trade at home, change to Charizard, Machamp, Meloetta, etc to win heart

How many people or accounts do you need?
Since Mega raid needs at least3 people to defeat. So everyone needs 3 accounts or 3 people (your children, your parter) to play.
The first accout and second account should be almost in the same type of level (that is,  below 30,  30-39, 40-49). In this way, when you catch, both of you can catch pokeons with exactly CP. Now, transfer low CP, ONLY trade high CP with low IV to turn them into lucky pokemons
The third account is to help you to win mega or tier 5 raid. A trainer need to be in level 5 to join raid and put a Pokemon in a gym, in level 10 for trade, however, to reach level 5, total XP needed is 10,000; level 10, XP 45,000. It can be done in few minutes if you wait for spotlight (every Tuesday 6-7) or community event (once a month) when often has double XP bonus and other bonus. Then, you only need to maintain it by doing daily raid. You can use mysterious candies and stardusts earning from raids to power up pokemons from raids.

It is very important to play daily.
The reward for seven-day streak for spin a pokestop, catcing a pokemon and field trip is huge.

How to use a lucky egg and a star piece?
a lucky egg (2x XP) and a starpiece (50% stardust) only last 30 minutes.

Sync catch up, spin, field research. The first catch should be on Sunday, the 7th day will be Satuuday. Please saving one field research for 7th day. The power up task is easiest one. Community event is usually held on Saturday. Now use a lucky egg and a starpiece. Timing it with 3 tier raid (180 seconds, 3 minutes) or 5 tier raid (300 seconds, 5 minutes). Be aware, the raid boss is notoriously hard to catch. Throw them as quick as possible and get it out.  Before raid, the egg will show up to tell the time, after it spawn, it lasts 45 minutes. You can save previous free daily pass, and do 2 raids on 7th day. But raid time is spontaneous. So it is not easy if you live in rural area.

Save incubators. Batch htching them when you use lucky egg and starpiece. Do timing. You will  get a pink egg when immediately opening a gift after hatching it. At least, it happens to me. If it is 2km, 5km egg, you will get the same type of egg when you spin a pokestop.

You can choose first catch Monday, the 7th day will be Sunday. A cycle for a week. Beside, walking reset on Monday. You can get that bonus too.

What should I buy using pokecoins?
Invest on storage for items and pokemons. 200 pokecoins for 50 storage increase. People often use it to buy the community bundles. 1280 pokecoins. Check the content before you buy it.

How to earn pokecoins?
Put your pokemon in Gym. 10 minutesfor 1 coin. Maximum 50 coins per day, that is, 8 hours and 20 minutes. You need to level 5 to do it.

Where to find stardusts?
Go battles

Where to find candies and mega stones?
Catch and walk. Many pokemon only requires one mile walking distnace to earn a candy. If you mega evolve a pokemon, when walking, you also get mega energy. You don't need to choose that evolved pokemon as your buddy. For example, you can use beedrill, weedle, or kakuna to get candies and mega energy, 1 mile for 1 cany and 5 mega energystones Super nice!!!! You can do steelix too. If you play on Dec, you get 200 steelix mega stone. Evolve it and earn mega stone from walking.

When I trade this mega evolved pokemon to my second account (cost 1600 stardust). I mega evolve it. It only costs 20 mega stone. Now, I walk with Kakuna instead of this Beedrill, I also get 5 mega stone when walking one 1km. Be aware, the mega evolution discount is only for that pokemon, but megaa stone can be earned if you mega evole this type of Pokemons.

This is what I did:  I got a Beedrill, maybe weedle, from beating GruntI earn 200 mega stones from the special task, so I mega evolve it but for nothing. Back then, I thought that 8 hours is time to evolve it. So I am very confused why it returned to normal form. I thought I must keep my phone running for 8 hours unstopped, lucky it only requires 20 stones to evolve it. I mega evolve it for the second time for nothing. Finally, I googled. LOL.

How many candies for fully power up a pokemon?
Usually, it requires 300 - 400 candies. If you get a lucky pokemon, 50% discount only on stardust. The quickest path is to do tier 3 or 5 raid. They usually host second or final stage evolution pokemons Power them up then. Raid boss has at least 2*, most time, it is 3* pokemon. If you catch serverals, trade them and hope one turns inot lucky one. Some events host guranteened XL candies trade, you can save them until then. But you need to be level 40 to get XL candies.

How many earn Jonto gold medal? Do I need to defeat Grunt? Do I need to purify?
Battle with Grunt or doing tier 1 or 4 raid. They have pokemons which hardly spawn in the wild. You don't to purify it unless you need to complete certain tasks. Only 2* shadow Pokemons are worth purifying. Some type of Pokemon should kept in shadow form to gain more fighting power. Also you can only get 12km eggs from Grunt leaders.

Which pokemons you need first to pay attention to ?
Fighting type. Many pokemons are weak to fighting type. You can use this type to defeat Grunt. Pay attention to Machope, Machoke, Machamp. It only cost 25 candies to evolve Machole to Machoke. It cost nothing when doing trade to evolve Machoke to Machamp.

How to select pokemon to transfer? How to make a lucky pokemon?
Trade before transfering. Trade cost 100 stardust. It pays off when some become lucky pokemons. Trading will reroll the dice. Wisely choose pokemons to trade. Pokemon is designed entirely on randomness. For me, the longest rows to get a lucky one is over 30 trades and the shortest row is 2 trades.

Lucky friends
You need to be best friend first. Lucky friends will guarantee lucky pokemon when trading.  After trading, the account reset to best friends. Keep changing gifts and do raid together, you can be lucky friend again. That is why the second and third account comes handy regarding this issue.

Friends & Gifts Limitation
Pokémon Go caps you at 200 friends . After that, you can't add friends. The number of Gifts you can carry in your inventory increased to 20. Open up to 30 Gifts per day, up from the previous 20. Only one gift can be sent to each Friend per day.

How to find Meloetta and Mew?
A Mythical Discovery is the first series of Special Research tasks. The final goal is to catch Mew, the Mythical Pokémon from the Kanto region. It was available since March 30th, 2018.
From one of the Special Research Tasks titled “Finding Your Voice", the reward is Meloetta

Is it worth to use real money to buy tickets?
The cost usuall is $0.99. If the pokemon that community event features has mega form, it will contain mega energy, then I think it is worth buying. The reward Otherwise I think not. For example, Bulsaur ticket cost 0.99, but Niantic is a pain in the ass, why giving 150 mega stone. It requires 200 to mega evolve. For a $11.99 ticket, I am not so eager to fill up my pokedox. My main goal to play this game is walking. So I can skip it. But I like to reach level 40 ASAP because you want to get all features the game offer. That is, I do same thing but don't get reward becasue I am below 40, for example, to catch Bloom in the park, I could get XL candies but I could not.

Tips:
  • Do not dump a Pokemon with high CP but low IV, trade it before dumping it. (Cost 100 stardust. Be aware, trading discount only apply for special trade when you are ultra or best friend. The normal trade still cost 100). Trade all your spare Pokemons, some eventually become lucky ones.
  • Do not evolve until it is necessary. Many fields task ask you to evolve certain types of pokemon, such as Grimer.
  • Don't miss the community day. (once a month). Usually it offer best bonus, such as 3x stardust, etc. It is the time to use a starpiece or a lucky egg.
  • Play attention to the spotlight hour (6-7pm, weekly). You can catch them easily, but don't evolve it, save it for a future task.
  • Play attentions to bonus events, for example, if event have double candies catch up and offer 3 candies transfer, use Pinap berries, you can have 6 * 2 + 3 = 15 candies for catching one pokemon.
  • Play attentions to pokemons. Some could yield high stardust, for example, catching a trubbish is 500 stardust.

Level up requirement

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/pokemon-go-level-cap-increase-level-50-rewards-item-list-7002

Evolution

  • swirlix evolution, feed 25 berries in a row.
  • Spritzee, need Incece to evolve.
  • Woobat evolution, walk 1km with the Woobat as their buddy and feed it 50 candy.
  • Floette, 100 candies and 20 hearts.
  • eevee require differnt requirement

Spritzee actually has the ability to make a small dent in the Great League PVP meta. PVPoke ranks Spritzee as the 123rd best Pokemon in the league. While not great, there may be a niche for it. Obviously both the Ultra and Master Leagues are a no-go for Spritzee.

https://www.dualshockers.com/pokemon-go-spritzee-and-aromatisse-best-moveset-max-cp/

IV & CP

All moves display what damage they do, but do not say how long the move takes. To find out how powerful a move is, the damage per second (DPS) is an accurate way of comparing and finding out which Pokémon move does the most damage. DPS means "Damage per Second." It is a measurement of damage that can be done by a weapon, spell, other equipment, player or group of players. It is used as a metric in some games to allow a determination of offensive power.

This move combination has the highest total DPS and is also the best moveset for PVP battles. Charged attack, Fast attack. IV (individual value, Stats). CP (Combat power, or Competition Points)

DPS means "Damage per Second."

Best team for the Master League in Pokemon Go

One of the best teams you can use in Pokemon Go’s Master League is Dialga, Melmetal, and Mewtwo. These are three of the strongest Pokemon in the meta that will provide wide coverage against most types.

As always, it’s impossible to say what the ‘ultimate team’ looks like across every single scenario, as it really depends on which Pokemon your opponent sends out – and you won’t know that until the battle begins.

Having said that, we’ve included several Pokemon below that should serve you well in most battles you’ll find yourself in. These all require XL Candy to reach full potential, so this can be quite an expensive league.

 | Go Battle League Season 11

Dialga

  • Fast Move: Dragon Breath
  • Charged Moves: Iron Head and Draco Meteor
  • Resistances: Poison, Grass, Bug, Electric, Flying, Normal, Psychic, Rock, Steel, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Fighting and Ground

Dialga has long been considered one of the biggest threats in the Master League. Aside from being ridiculously powerful, it also has the incredible advantage of being a Dragon-type that’s not weak to Fairy-type attacks or Dragon-type attacks.

Dragon Breath is Dialga’s optimal Fast Move, so make sure you have it. As for Charged Moves, Iron Head is the only option that can really be spammed, while Draco Meteor is a devastatingly strong move (but watch out for the huge Attack self-nerf).

Melmetal

  • Fast Move: Thunder Shock
  • Charged Moves: Superpower and Rock Slide
  • Resistances: Poison, Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal, Psychic, Rock, and Steel
  • Weaknesses: Fire, Fighting, and Ground

As a Steel-type Pokemon, Melmetal has a huge amount of type resistances that combine well with its high-level bulk to make it very difficult to take down. It can also be a Dialga counter, which is something every Master League team needs.

Thunder Shock is the only Fast Move available for Melmetal in Pokemon Go, so having the right Charged Moves is essential. We’d recommend pairing Rock Slide with Superpower, both of which are relatively low-cost and offer great type coverage.

Lugia

  • Fast Move: Dragon Tail
  • Charged Moves: Sky Attack and Aeroblast
  • Resistances: Fighting, Ground, Grass, and Psychic
  • Weaknesses: Dark, Electric, Ghost, Rock, and Ice

Lugia has incredible bulk and access to some brilliant moves, making it a standout in the Master League with wins against the likes of Groudon and Mewtwo. The recent addition of the exclusive move Aeroblast only elevated Lugia’s performance.

Go with Dragon Tail as Lugia’s Fast Move and Sky Attack as its primary Charged Move, as this low-cost attack also has STAB. Combine these with Aeroblast, which deals a shocking amount of damage and has a chance to give a big buff to its Attack stat.

Mewtwo

  • Fast Move: Psycho Cut
  • Charged Moves: Psystrike and Focus Blast
  • Resistances: Fighting and Psychic
  • Weaknesses: Bug, Dark, and Ghost

Would it really be the Master League without a mention of Mewtwo? This iconic Psychic-type Legendary has earned its spot as one of the top players in the Pokemon Go Battle League, with an immense Attack stat and access to some brilliant moves.

Go with Psycho Cut as Mewtwo’s Fast Move, as it has the best energy generation. Then, you’ll have access to Pystrike, a powerful and relatively cheap Charged Move with STAB damage, and Focus Blast, which provides some extra coverage.

Giratina (Origin Forme)

  • Fast Move: Shadow Claw
  • Charged Moves: Shadow Ball and Ominous Wind
  • Resistances: Normal, Fighting, Bug, Electric, Fire, Grass, Poison, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Dark, Dragon, Fairy, Ghost, and Ice
Both forms of Giratina are well-placed in the Master League, but Origin forme is capable of reaching a slightly higher CP which gives it an edge, which is why many Trainers prefer it. Both are definitely worth having on your team, though.

Regardless of which forme you have, Shadow Claw is Giratina’s best Fast Move. If you have Origine forme, go with Shadow Ball and Ominous Wind as Charged Moves. If you have Altered forme, go with Dragon Claw and Shadow Sneak.

Zekrom

  • Fast Move: Dragon Breath
  • Charged Moves: Crunch and Wild Charge
  • Resistances: Electric, Fire, Flying, Grass, Steel, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Dragon, Fairy, Ground, and Ice
Zekrom has the same stats as Dialga, including that huge Attack stat, which is enough to put it on your radar. It has a resistance to Steel-types, which is unusual for Dragons, and key wins against Lugia, Giratina (Origin Forme), Kyogre, and Metagross.

Go with Dragon Breath as Zekrom’s Fast Move, as it deals decent STAB damage. When it comes to Charged Moves, choose Crunch and Wild Charge for a good variety of coverage. These are also the cheapest options available, so you can use them often.

Zacian

  • Fast Move: Snarl
  • Charged Moves: Play Rough and Close Combat
  • Resistances: Electric, Fire, Flying, Grass, Steel, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Dragon, Fairy, Ground, and Ice
Zacian has proven itself to be a brilliant wildcard in the Master League. It’s one of the few Fairy-types that can keep up with the rest of the meta when it comes to stats and CP, and it has both double resistance and double effectiveness against Dragon-types, which reign supreme here.

Snarl has the best energy generation of Zacian’s Fast Moves, so make sure you have that. Then, you’ll get quicker access to brilliant Charged Moves like Play Rough, which deals huge STAB damage, and Close Combat, which can help cover Zacian’s big weakness to Steel-types.

Groudon

  1. Fast Move: Mud Shot
  2. Charged Moves: Fire Punch and Earthquake
  3. Resistances: Electric, Poison, and Rock
  4. Weaknesses: Grass, Ice, and Water
Groudon is a brilliant addition to any team in the Master League, thanks to its impressive bulk and a great STAB moveset. But it excels because of its ability to destroy Steel-types like the omnipresent Dialga and others including Metagross and Melmetal.

Make sure Groudon has Mud Shot as its Fast Move, as it has brilliant energy generation that will let you access two strong Charged Moves: Fire Punch and Earthquake. Fire Punch requires an Elite TM, but it’s worth it for the low cost and shield-baiting potential.

Kyogre

  • Fast Move: Waterfall
  • Charged Moves: Surf and Blizzard
  • Resistances: Fire, Ice, Steel, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Electric and Grass
Kyogre may not be the absolute best performer in the Master League, but it’s got plenty of opportunities to cause a splash (or a tidal wave) with a huge Attack stat and a brilliant moveset that also includes access to an Ice-type move to take on Dragons.

Waterfall is the optimal Fast Move, as it has very good damage output and the benefit of STAB. Make sure you have the low-cost Surf as your main Charged Move, then follow it up with Blizzard as a secondary option for extra coverage options.

Togekiss

  • Fast Move: Charm
  • Charged Moves: Ancient Power and Flamethrower
  • Resistances: Bug, Dark, Dragon, Fighting, Grass, and Ground
  • Weaknesses: Electric, Ice, Poison, Rock, and Steel
If you don’t have access to Zacian, Togekiss is the next best thing. With so many Dragon-types in the meta, having a Fairy-type Pokemon on your team is a really good idea; just watch out for its big vulnerabilities to Electric and Steel-type attacks.

If you’re looking for Fairy-type attacks, go with Charm as your Fast Move – it doesn’t have the best energy generation, but it will dish out some solid STAB damage. Follow that up with the low-cost Ancient Power and Flamethrower for some extra coverage options.

Pokemon Go best Ultra League team | Go Battle League Season 11

One of the best teams Trainers can use in Pokemon Go’s Ultra League is Registeel, Cresselia, and Swampert, as these are three of the strongest fighters in the meta and provide a good range of coverage against common enemies.

As always, it’s impossible to say what a truly ‘best’ Ultra League team is, as it really depends on the opponents you’ll go up against. For example, Registeel may be king, but it will always be weak against a powered-up Swampert.

| Go Battle League Season 11

Registeel (XL)

  • Fast Move: Lock-On
  • Charged Moves: Focus Blast and Flash Cannon
  • Resistances: Poison, Normal, Flying, Rock, Bug, Steel, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, and Fairy
  • Weaknesses: Fire, Ground, and Fighting

The Legendary titan Registeel is, in our opinion, the king of the Ultra League. It has access to the best energy-generating Fast Move in the game, an incredible amount of resistances, and a max CP of 2447, which is just under the Ultra League cap.

That Fast Move we mentioned? It’s Lock-On, and you’ll need it. With this, you’ll be able to unleash the powerful Charged Moves Flash Cannon, which benefits from STAB, and Focus Blast, which adds some useful Fighting-type coverage.

Galarian Stunfisk (XL)

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina

2445 144          171             240

  • Fast Move: Mud Shot
  • Charged Moves: Rock Slide and Earthquake
  • Resistances: Poison, Rock, Electric, Fairy, Flying, Bug, Steel, Normal, Psychic, and Dragon
  • Weaknesses: Fire, Water, Ground, and Fighting

Galarian Stunfisk has become an unexpected champion in the Pokemon Go Battle League, ranking as one of the best in both the Great League and the Ultra League. When powered up with XL Candy, it can take down powerful foes like Cresselia, Melmetal, and Togekiss.

Go for Mud Shot as your Fast Move, as it has really great energy generation. Then, for Charged Moves, you’ll want Rock Slide for its low cost to help you destroy your opponent’s shields, and Earthquake for some impressive STAB damage.

Trevenant (XL)

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina  level40

2893 201 154 198        2559

  • Fast Move: Shadow Claw
  • Charged Moves: Shadow Ball and Seed Bomb
  • Resistances: Electric, Fighting, Grass, Ground, Normal, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Ice

Trevenant made its debut during 2021’s Halloween event, but it’s already become one of the best Ultra League competitors with the ability to beat some of the biggest contenders such as Giratina (Altered Forme), Melmetal, Cresselia, and Swampert.

When deciding Trevenant’s Fast Move, it’s an easy choice, as Shadow Claw has better damage output and faster energy generation. When it comes to Charged Moves, start with the low-cost Seed Bomb for baiting shields, then follow up with the deadly Shadow Ball for huge damage.

Talonflame (XL)

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina  level40

2493 176 155 186      2205

  • Fast Move: Incinerate
  • Charged Moves: Flame Charge and Brave Bird
  • Resistances: Electric, Fighting, Grass, Ground, Normal, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Ice

There aren’t many Fire-types that appear in the top tiers of the Ultra League, but if you’re going to use one, make sure it’s Talonflame. A max CP of 2493, which is just under the league’s limit, makes it a perfect (if expensive) competitor.

Incinerate is Talonflame’s optimal Fast Move, and it’s definitely worth using an Elite TM to get it. For Charged Moves, go with the low-cost Flame Charge which can be spammed and gives a guaranteed Attack buff, then follow it up with Brave Bird for big damage.

Walrein

Walrein stats

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina  level40

3081 182 176 242       2726

  • Fast Move: Powder Snow
  • Charged Moves: Icicle Spear and Earthquake
  • Resistances: Ice and Water
  • Weaknesses: Electric, Fighting, Grass, and Rock

Who could have predicted that Walrein would become an Ultra League star? Well, thanks to the January Community Day, which provided the Ice/Water-type with the moves it needed to be viable, it’s now one of the biggest threats to watch out for.

Powder Snow is an essential Fast Move that gives Walrein quick access to its Charged Moves: Icicle Spear, which is great for spamming with low cost and decent damage output, and Earthquake, which gives it almost perfect coverage options.

Obstagoon

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina level40
2999 180 194 212      2652

  • Fast Move: Counter
  • Charged Moves: Night Slash and Obstruct
  • Resistances: Dark, Ghost, and Psychic
  • Weaknesses: Bug, Fairy, and Fighting

Obstagoon has received a boost in the Ultra League rankings thanks to the brand new Community Day-exclusive Charged Move Obstruct. This Dark-type attack increases its own Defense and reduces the opponent’s Defense, which can be devastating.

As always, Counter remains one of the best Fast Moves in Pokemon Go. Night Slash should still be Obstagoon’s priority Charged Move, but the addition of Obstruct as a secondary attack is what sets it apart in this league.

Giratina (Altered Forme)

Altered Giratina stats

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina   level40

3820 187             225    284        3379

  • Fast Move: Shadow Claw
  • Charged Moves: Dragon Claw and Shadow Sneak
  • Resistances: Normal, Fighting, Bug, Electric, Fire, Grass, Poison, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Dark, Dragon, Fairy, Ghost, and Ice

For many Trainers, the bulky and devastating Giratina (Altered Forme) is the ultimate choice in the Ultra League. It does have quite a few powerful counters, but if you can avoid them, it will have no problem taking down the majority of the Go Pokedex.

Shadow Claw has a good balance of damage and energy gain, so opt for that as your Fast Move. Dragon Claw is the superior Charged Move, as it has STAB and can be spammed, while Shadow Sneak is a good second choice if you can afford it.

Swampert

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina  level40

3362 208          175       225        2974

  • Fast Move: Mud Shot
  • Charged Moves: Hydro Cannon and Earthquake
  • Resistances: Electric, Steel, Rock, Poison, and Fire
  • Weaknesses: Grass

Now for a more accessible Pokemon that doesn’t need XL Candy. Swampert is an excellent Water/Ground-type, which means it only has one weakness (Grass) and can take down powerful Steel-types like Melmetal and Registeel, as well as the Legendary Giratina.

Mud Shot is the best Fast Move for energy generation, so choose that. Swampert excels with Hydro Cannon, which you can only get from Community Days or with an Elite Charged TM, but Earthquake is a solid backup Charged Move otherwise.

Abomasnow (XL)

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina  level40

2670 178 158 207       2362

  • Fast Move: Powder Snow
  • Charged Moves: Weather Ball (Ice) and Energy Ball
  • Resistances: Electric, Grass, Water, and Ground
  • Weaknesses: Fire, Flying, Poison, Rock, Bug, Steel, and Fighting

Abomasnow is one of the top performers in the Ultra League when powered up with XL Candy. It does have quite a few weaknesses, but it can now reach the league’s CP cap and benefits from a fast moveset that can take down opponents before they even know what’s hit them.

Powder Snow is the best Fast Move available thanks to its fast energy generation. Then, when it comes to Charged Moves, you’ll want a combination of Weather Ball (Ice) for its low cost and ability to be spammed, and Energy Ball for great STAB damage and extra coverage.

Tapu Fini

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina   level40

3230 189          254    172         2857

  • Fast Move: Water Gun
  • Charged Moves: Surf and Moonblast
  • Resistances: Bug, Dark, Dragon, Fighting, Fire, Ice, and Water
  • Weaknesses: Electric, Grass, and Poison

The newest addition to this list is Tapu Fini, the Water/Fairy-type guardian deity. It serves a similar purpose as Azumarill does in the Great League, with a brilliant typing and good bulk that helps it defeat the likes of Stunfisk, Swampert, and Giratina.

Tapu Fini struggles with average Fast Moves, but Water Gun is the best of a bad bunch as it has STAB. Make sure you have the low-cost Surf as your primary Charged Move, then follow it up with the devastating Moonblast for huge Fairy-type damage.

Cresselia

Max CP Attack Defense Stamina  CP40

3230 152           258          260         2857

  • Fast Move: Psycho Cut
  • Charged Moves: Moonblast and Grass Knot
  • Resistances: Fighting and Psychic
  • Weaknesses: Bug, Dark, and Ghost

While many Legendaries need the Master League to unleash their true power, Cresselia performs best right here in the Ultra League. With fantastic bulk and a max CP just above the cap, it’s perfectly positioned to take down big players like Giratina and Swampert.

Cresselia has two great Fast Move options: Choose Psycho Cut for solid energy generation or Confusion for STAB damage. Moonblast is the clear winner for Charged Moves, with Grass Knot as a second choice for extra coverage if you have access to it.

Regirock

Regirock stats
Max CP Attack Defense Stamina       Level 40
3530 179            309 190                  3122

  • Fast Move: Lock On
  • Charged Moves: Stone Edge and Focus Blast
  • Resistances: Normal, Poison, Flying, and Fire
  • Weaknesses: Steel, Ground, Fighting, Water, and Grass

It may not reach the heights of its Legendary titan sibling Registeel, but Regirock is still one of the best options for the Ultra League – and it doesn’t need XL Candy to perform, making it much more accessible.

Just like Registeel, you’ll want the brilliant Lock On as Regirock’s Fast Move. With all the energy that move gains, you’ll be able to unleash two powerful Charged Moves: Stone Edge and Focus Blast, with the latter giving some much-needed coverage against Steel-types.

Scrafty (XL)

  • Level 40, 2283
  • Fast Move: Counter
  • Charged Moves: Foul Play and Power-Up Punch
  • Resistances: Dark, Ghost, Psychic, and Rock
  • Weaknesses: Fairy, Fighting, and Flying

Scrafty is an expensive Pokemon to power up for the Ultra League, requiring plenty of XL Candy to reach the 2,500 CP limit. It’s a worthwhile investment, though, with potential wins against big players like Walrein, Galarian Stunfisk, and Swampert.

Make sure you have the brilliant Counter as a Fast Move, then follow it up with the STAB Charged Moves Foul Play and Power-Up Punch – use the former for big damage and the latter for baiting shields and getting a potential Attack bufff.

Snorlax

  • Level 40, 3225
  • Fast Move: Lick
  • Charged Moves: Body Slam and Earthquake
  • Resistances: Ghost
  • Weaknesses: Fighting

Thanks to its resistance to Ghost-type moves, Snorlax is a brilliant choice to take down Giratina (Altered Forme), as well as Cresselia and Trevenant. Snorlax is also a relatively accessible option, as it’s been in Pokemon Go since the early days and many Trainers have one.

Snorlax has access to two Fast Moves, but Lick is the only one you should consider. Body Slam is the superior Charged Move with a relatively low cost, so make sure you have that. If you can afford a secondary move, Earthquake is a good choice for dealing huge damage.
